Total Organizer 1.5 released. Now two versions…
From now on, Total Organizer comes in two versions - free and PRO. The difference isn’t big, but since the price is $9.50 only, I think it’s really worth to look at it.
If your’re wondering why so quickly, then the answer is… bandwidth - every week number of downloads of Total Organizer increases by about 30% - that’s why my website was offline a few times in the last weeks. This program must start paying for itself 
I’d like to reward all of you who helped me with Total Organizer - that’s why in the next week I’ll try to contact everybody who sent me their feedback/suggestions, or who were active in the forum to send a registration key for Total Organizer Pro. This also applies to all of you who will send me any suggestions/will be active in the forum in the next week.

I mainly want a way to store contact information. It would be great if Total Organizer had the option to start in a ‘Contact’ homepage. Also, it would be great to be able to import from Firefox/Outlook!
Great product…I was using Essential PIM, but this is much better since this allows grouping of information!

Thanks for this wonderful program.
I like the key words feature.
Here’s a suggestion: when in Edit mode, can we have a listing of the already existing “key words” to facilitate assignmnet of key words. This makes it easier and also to avoid using too many different key words.
Another suggestion: can it remember the last mode at exit. E.g. where I was (like Notes view) and also the window/frame size settings?

Hi,
I was about to write to you asking when or if you would go commercial anytime, thi post answers that. I think it is fair to charge for this software not just because of the bandwith but because it is obvious you have worked hard to acomplish a very intelligent PIM.
There are some things I would like but they enter into the category of particular wishes as the software as a whole has it all.
My suggestion: In tasks, allow tasks to be other than 0 or 100 percent done.
Finally, in my web page, which I’m redesigning and is not ready yet, I will have a downloads area for software that I consider extremely good only. I would like to receive your permission to distribute your TO software. I don’t want to sell it, just allow downloads.

OK, added to the todo list - next time Total Organizer should simply remember recently open tab.
And about importing from any other contact manager - you can do this via ‘file | import | contacts | csv’ (http://www.konradp.com/products/organizer/help/tools/importing-exporting.htm)

About the keyword - well, at the beginnig the folders were supposed to be ‘keywords’ - you see, you can attach a given item to many folders at once.
The problem was, that you had to create a folder first, and use it - that was not simple/fast. So I implemented the Keywords - you just enter them and you have it. No need to create them first.
Now - if I made it in that way - that keywords will have to be first created in order to use them - I’d duplicate the folders functionality.
But I can - and this is a good idea I think - create something like “auto suggestion” that is, you start entering a new keyword - and T.O. will try to display a list of suggestion to you, based on your previously used keywords - I’ll try to do this possible.
‘remembering the last mode’ - OK, as I told Steve - T.O. will remeber last open tab.
To Guillermo:
Please tell me about these ‘particular wishes’ - maybe it will turn out that more people have similiar wishes:)
About tasks ‘completed’ issue - please look at the ‘tools | preferences’ menu command, and check the ‘completed as percents’ - from now on you should be able to see more options - from 0 to 100 percents.
And YES - you have the permission to distribute Total Organizer! Thank you!
By the way if you’re using freeware version - it’s worth to download and install Total Organizer once again - there was a small bug with with positioning windows when T.O. was maximized - now it’s ok.

I dont’ think TO is ready for a pro release I understand the BW problem.

Go there, register then upload TO there, let them handle transfer of TO, you can give each version a unique name (just add the verrsion number) and let users download older versions too. This service seems like it would be perfect for you.
Don’t worry about the part that says “should not last longer than 10 hours” No that doesn’t mean that after 10 hours your download dies, it means that it shouldn’t take you more than 10 hours to upload it, no matter the size.
I say check it out and give them a try.

Thanks for the info - but it’s not so simple, there are plenty of reasons for not using any free services like that. First of all - most of the software download portals/sites require a direct link to the setup file on developer’s website (and this link later spreads on the Internet). Second - I have already tried that and statistics show that most users simply do not download - they give up - and move to another software product.

No problem, this site though isn’t a download site like say betanews or download.com they actually made this for gamers to share file and works much like download a patch from them but anyone may use it, I even accidentally uploaded a file without an account (don’t know if they only temporary keep those though)

Programs like Spybot Search and Destroy and Ccleaner’s download process is a lot more complicated if you ask me, I say its at least worth running a short test to have it as an alternative download site and ask people to use the alternative AND still give them a direct link from the server

I already tried using an alternative server - but 99% of Users used a direct download anyway. Besides I’ve already bought more bandwidth
If this will not be anough, I’ll think about using filefront.com or another free service.
