Memphis Declines to Southern Miss

HATTIESBURG, Miss - Chris Crawford scored a career-high 23 points, but was not able to connect on a Southern Miss defeated Memphis, 75-72 and three-point shot at the buzzer. Crawford linked on 9-of-15 (60.0 %) field-goal attempts, including 5-of-7 (71.4 percent) from three-point range.

Memphis (15-7, 6-2 C-USA) trailed Southern Miss (20-3, 7-1 C-USA), 69-65, with under a second to play, drove the period of the ground and when Will Barton selected an errant free-throw try. Barton received a foul and sank both free throws.

Barton then fouled Neil Watson, who knocked down a couple of photographs from the charity stripe, and Joe Jackson immediately forced the ball up the court for the layin, keeping the Tigers\\\' deficit at two points.

Memphis was outrebounded, 36-23, ultimately causing 15 second chance items for Southern Miss. The Golden Eagles also related on 24-of-27 (88.9 %) of their cost-free throws, compared to 13-of-17 (76.5 %) for the Tigers.

Southern Miss clicked Memphis\\\' 18-game win streak contrary to the Golden Eagles. This is the first-time considering that the 2nd game of the 2003-04 period.
