Total Organizer help

Introduction :: overview

Total Organizer is a personal information management (PIM) / knowledge management (KM) application for Microsoft Windows. It's a powerful goal setting and time management system designed to increase your productivity and help you organize your business and personal life.

The program allows you to store your tasks, to-do(s), contacts and notes divided into  folders (tags) - as a hierarchical tree.  This means you can create categories like "Project X", "Project Y", "Personal", "Business" and then have a separate set of items (contacts, tasks etc). This is a natural way of storing stuff - since every kind of information (like contacts) tends to fall into some category. Whenever you have to manage many projects, concepts, departments, with different sets of data, Total Organizer could be just what you are looking for a long time.

Additionally, since it happens that a bit of data tends to fall into more than one category - every item (task, note etc.) may belong to many folders simultaneously.

And, if you create subfolders (subcategories) - then by opening a folder you can see all the items belonging to it, and the contents of all its subfolders.

On the other hand - of course you don't have to create any folders at all, if you don't need to.

What's next:

Getting started : simply start working with Total Organizer - how to add and manage data.

Or look at the following example, if you want more theory:

An example:

Let's look at the following hypothetical example: John Smith is a webmaster, he manages two websites, e.g. "CoolCompany.com", and "JohnSmithBlog.com", besides he also wants to keep his personal data in the Organizer.

So his folder structure might look like this:

\

  My web projects

     CoolCompany.com

     JohnSmithBlog.com

  Personal

Now he adds the following stuff to the "Organizer":

To do: "CoolCompany wants me to update their phone numbers.... "

-John will obviously add it to the "CoolCompany.com" folder ("ToDo" tab).

To do: "I found a cheaper internet provider (www.cheaperprovider....) I should look at their offer"

-Since this apply to all his websites, John adds it to the "My web projects" folder.

Note, that by going to the "My web projects" John can see all the items in this folder and in its all subfolders.

He can also add this item to the "CoolCompany.com" AND to the "JohnSmithBlog.com".

Contact: Justin Smith, e-mail, phone etc...

-Justin is John's friend and a graphician, so she will be added to both the "Personal" and "My Web projects" folders (in the "contacts" tab).

Now you may want to open the "Getting started" topic.
