Advanced :: Making portable installationCreating "portable" installation, that is, for portable devices, such as a USB flash drive. There is no special (separate) "portable" setup file. You make the program "portable" by using the following procedure (note that you have to do this only once):
Using "portable" Total Organizer. To start up the program, just double-click Organizer.exe where you installed "portable" Total Organizer on your portable drive. Then, use it just like you would a local copy of the program. There is just one thing to keep in mind: Removing Your Drive - When you're done, first exit Total Organizer, and then wait for the activity light on your removable drive to stop flashing. This may take a minute or more on slow drives or computers. Then select the 'Safely remove [device]' option from the icon in the system tray. If you remove the drive while it is writing, you may lose data.
Upgrading "portable" Total Organizer. First ensure that Total Organizer is closed. Then open the installation package and when you'll be asked about destination directory, choose the same you did last time.
Remarks. In "portable" mode, Total Organizer keeps its documents in the program's folder (under "My Organizer Documents"). If you already used Total Organizer, and you already have a database, which you'd like to use in "portable" version of the program, then you have to manually copy these documents to this new location. Please refer to the Database management article for more information.
