About. This strange feature appeared in AC Browser v. 2.0. I had
this idea, when some day, I was putting my CD records to mp3 in my hard disk. I
made a mistake with files naming, whole directory of mp3's had bad file names -
the first song had title of the second one in real, the second one the title of
the third one etc...The last one had the title of the first one. So they were
wrong. I started to rename them, and this idea appeared - how it would be simple
if I could edit it just like in a e.g. Notepad. I would just move the first line
to the end... and everything would be ok....
I finished renaming those files in a normal way, but just
when I found the time, I created the Editorial Renaming tool. When you turn it
on, you get just what I wanted - the edit box in which you can edit files' names
just like in a text editor. Then just press Rename, and... done.
Inside Editorial Renaming window :
You will not find this keyboard shortcuts in any menu or
context menu, so try to remember them :)
Ctrl+H - Find and replace dialog.
Alt+down arrow - make the selection lowercase
Alt+up arrow - make the selection UPPERCASE
Alt+Shift+up arrow - make the first letter uppercase, the
rest lowercase, like "Word"
Of course the number of files in a list, and the number of
lines in the edit box must be identical. Remember that if there is a newline
made (because of enter pressed) at the end of all the text, it's counted as new
entry, and ACB will not proceed.
Also, ACB will not proceed if file names repeat in the edit
box.
Yes, you can use this tool with
ACL,
however the ACL information will not be updated, and so the ACL is not valid any
more.
